Armor Tier List

Armor decides whether your multiplied squad survives the first Red vs Blue clash long enough to use its weapons. This community-oriented tier list ranks armor investments in Make an Army Red VS Blue during UH Games Offical’s Roblox beta. It is not an official balance sheet—early-access patches can retune costs overnight.

Rankings assume you already take strong multiplier gates from Gates and Paths and spend coins from Coins and Gems. Armor tiers stack on the unit line you feed most often.

Ranking criteria

We score armor on:

  1. Effective durability — how many arena hits or boss slams the tier absorbs before units drop.
  2. Cost per slot — coins versus gems for the same survivability gain.
  3. Gate synergy — whether the tier matters before Pharaoh or Emperor checks in Beat Bosses.
  4. Front-line value — bonus weight for tiers you apply to melee or shield units that face enemy contact first.

S tier — legendary and top shop rows

Legendary armor (the label named in the experience description) sits at S tier when priced in gems because it typically spans entire runs and visible model upgrades track power spikes. If your shop shows a distinct top row with gold or legendary text, prioritize one piece on your main stack before duplicating lower tiers across everyone.

Run-long epic sets land in S when they discount repair or reduce wipe penalties during beta testing. Confirm in your HUD after purchase—some epic rows behave like S in solo but drop to A in five-player lag.

Why S wins: arena DPS scales faster than raw unit count in mid-beta. Players who reach Emperor with oversized but unarmored stacks prove the pattern weekly.

A tier — reliable epic and high coin tiers

Epic armor one step below legendary is A tier for most players: strong enough for Beat Pharaoh attempts without gem bankruptcy. Buy epic on your primary line first, then consider spreading +1 common tiers on secondary lines if adds leak during boss fights.

Max coin-tier plate before first boss gate is A tier when gem income is thin. Two coordinated coin tiers often beat one legendary splurge if you still lack a weapon upgrade from Weapons Tier List.

B tier — spread upgrades and side-line filler

Equal +1 armor on every unit type is B tier efficiency. It looks balanced but dilutes power on the stack you multiplied most. Use spread armor only when you genuinely do not know which line gates will feed next run.

Cosmetic-heavy low tiers with minimal stat text belong in B until dataminers or patch notes prove otherwise. Beta UI sometimes ships placeholder rows.

Secondary line luxury armor—cavalry you barely multiplied—is B tier unless co-op partners stack the same line.

C tier — low priority buys

Pre-shop gate armor pickups that reset next segment rank C when a shop stop is one gate away. Keep moving unless the pickup is free and on-path.

Duplicate legendary on a bench line you never multiply is C tier waste. Shift gems to weapons on Upgrade Priority instead.

Armor rerolls that cost gems without guaranteed tier ups are C tier. Replay the run with better gates rather than gambling.

Boss-specific notes

Beat Pharaoh runs want at least A-tier epic on the lead stack before you commit gems. Pharaoh phases punish glass armies that skipped shop two.

Beat Emperor pushes S-tier legendary or stacked epic plus coin tiers. If timers expire, fix weapons next—not more armor—see Weapons Tier List.

Red Button and secret badge routes may require surviving trap waves; treat front-line S tier as insurance even if DPS looks sufficient on paper.

Sample upgrade path (one run)

  1. Gate one to three: skip armor pickups unless free.
  2. Shop one: A-tier epic or max coin tier on main stack.
  3. Mid run: coin farm gate if broke—see Coins and Gems.
  4. Shop two: push toward S legendary if gems allow; else second epic piece.
  5. Pre-boss: emergency armor only if last wipe was instant death.

Full sequencing lives on Upgrade Priority.

Co-op tips

Assign one player to gem-fund legendary on the shared callout line while others stack coin tiers on secondary fronts. Five-player lobbies lose time when three players open armor menus at the same shop node—stagger purchases.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers players ask before every match.

Is legendary armor always S tier?

Usually yes for main-stack survival in beta meta, but only if you multiplied that line. Legendary on a side line drops to C tier value.

Should I buy armor before weapons?

Often one armor tier first if you die in seconds. If bosses time out with full health, prioritize weapons instead.

Do armor tiers reset each run?

In-run purchases typically reset when the run ends unless persistent hub upgrades exist. Plan per-run shops accordingly.

Why is spread armor only B tier?

Diluted stats on your multiplied line lose to focused epic or legendary on one stack in arena math.

Are these tiers official?

No. Community rankings for early-access beta—not endorsed by UH Games Offical.
